Houston hit-and-run crash sends 6 to hospital

HOUSTON — Six people were take to the hospital Sunday after a hit-and-run driver caused a series of crashes near downtown Houston.

Police are looking for the driver who started the chain reaction Houston auto accidents, which occurred around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on the Southwest Freeway near Texas 288.

A pickup was weaving in and out of Houston traffic when it crashed into the back of a car, sending it into the right shoulder and crashing into a second car, which spun and hit a wall, police said.

Three people from each of the struck cars were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. The driver of the truck did not stop, according to police, and no vehicle description was available.
